The Other Mother has been working hard in the yard. Gardens have been weeded, mulch spread, pond skimmed, weeds banished, rocks hauled, shrubs and flowers planted. That kinda hard. At the end of the day she is sore and achy. I know she is feeling the day (and her years) in her bones.
As she says "When am I gonna realize I'm not 50 anymore?"
I, too, was waddling and creaking by the end of the evening. She says "What are you hurting from - a hard day of sitting?"
True. I didn't do anything physical - yet my knees crunched and hip sockets creaked when I carried the baby and slowly climbed the stairs to bed.
Getting ready for sleep, we complained about our aching muscles and creaky bones and the the physical reminders of what we can no longer easily do because of aging.
So...It is Saturday Night, and we are an old married couple and welllllll...you know what I was thinking...Why not???? So I innocently tested the waters and asked my spouse if there were any acts she still felt capable of performing.....(hint, hint)
She smiled and looked me square in the eye and said "I can still spin plates"

I burst out laughing.
And that, dear readers is why I LOVE, Love, love that woman.
Keeping the love alive even with the aches and pains....beautiful. :)
