This is my 300th post. Hard to believe, really. When I first began blogging it was to find wisdom and sanity to help me be a better foster/adoptive parent to the children in my home. What I have since found was a community of wonderful, wise and selfless folk.
At first I thought I should do a give-away to celebrate my blog and my readers...but what I'd much rather do is celebrate another blogger and the wonderful work she does in advocating for orphans and those in need. Allow me to call your attention to the wonderful vacation raffle Megan at Millions of Miles is doing again this year. You can read more about it on her post. All proceeds raised in this raffle will be divided 50%-50% between two fantastic charitable organizations- Our Family Adoptions (a humanitarian organization that cares for orphans in the Congo) and Heartline Ministries (touching the lives of vulnerable people in Haiti). Both of these organizations are well established in the areas where they work and are doing amazing things on the ground for the people they serve.
Hmmm. A trip to Destin, Florida or a trip to Colorado????? With the crazy mountains of snow piled up in my backyard - I don't care where! Just someplace other than snowy New England would be fine with me-thank you very much!
So, In celebration of the joys of blogging and opportunity to connect with so many amazing people who are making change in the world. I am buying a few raffle tickets and I hope you will too. The raffle ends Sunday, February 20th. The winner will be announced on Monday, February 21st.
Hop on over to Megan's here for the skinny.
