Yeah. WE LET OUR PETS ON THE BED...in fact we are pretty darn lucky they let us up on the bed sometimes! With three dogs and two cats it can get pretty crowded on our King size bed. This was taken this afternoon as we read books and napped...yes..NAPPED! In broad daylight.
Dexter and Riley are sleeping at The Other Mother's blanket covered feet and I am pinned down by the two cats: Winter and Pi. Pi is on my left, out of camera view. Thankfully, Sarah, our golden retriever does not like creature comforts as much as the other beasties and is content to nap on the floor....
Yeah...Animals on the bed and we Napped....Don't hate us? Okay???
One of the reasons we napped this afternoon is The Other Mother has a late night tonite: she is attending the Symphony tonite as a guest of a bank...She looked soooooo beautiful all dressed up and has since sent me photos from her iphone taken from the reception room and from her seat as the musicians warm up...
Apparently this is the weekend of culture.....Last night the Other Mother took James and his friend to see the play Godspell at a local college....the boys were enthralled with everything about the college and the theater......
I have to confess that I am feeling a little bit guilty these days. The Other Mother and I have had several weeks of pure parenting bliss...all has been relatively peaceful here. Kids have been regulated. No big issues.....no fallout.....no PTSD..... no MH issues....Dare I even say it??? I am tempting the fates here:
We have been enjoying experiencing a normal looking and normal feeling life.....Yeah. Normal!?!!
Don't hate us. Really.
My cats have always slept on my bed with me. Of course, they are cats so they spend about 18 hours a day sleeping anyway. They probably feel it is their bed come to think of it. Anyway, Boo Boo sleeps on my head these days. Nice. LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL.
ReplyDeleteI took pics of our girls in the same pose on the multi purpose beds (humans beds), the other day too, haven't posted them yet.
FB and I have separate beds mainly cos 3 is a crowd. It was pretty cute when she was a 5kg puppy, now she's a 30kg stubborn old lady dog that snores, farts and dreams, it's just annoying.
Gasp! You oughta be ashamed!!
ReplyDeleteJust kidding. You should see the array of dogs on beds, sofas, and laundry piles in our house at any given time. The people-beings around here don't stand a chance.
Mack sleeps with us, too- The new baby doesn't sleep with us, but I'm sure that's only because he's a parrot.
ReplyDeleteHA! I was much more conflicted about our pup sleeping on the bed than I ever was about being gay. And telling other people??? Yikes. What would my parents think if they knew Ned slept on the bed?? Ugh.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a relaxing Saturday!
MamaDrama, please use due care and attention with words like "bliss" and "normal." They bring on a hail of other shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou and Other Mother are women after my own heart. I frequently awake pinned to the bed by our four cats and dog (lab/border collie mix, so not pocket-sized, and very keen on her creature comforts). And naps are pleasures devoutly to be wished.
hey from one seemingly normal house to another i here you, things were so calm for so long here that I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, it finally did last Thusday but it was not awful and we worked through it and it has been smooth sailing since then. May the water continue to be calm at your house as well.
ReplyDeleteYou have a cat named Pi! So did we! Was it as in 3.1415...? His full name was Pythagoras but we always called him Pi. (Sadly, he died about about 18 months from an unheard-of severe acute reaction to a medication.)
ReplyDeleteCelebrating the sweet spot with you! You've earned it. Though I am a little jealous of all that bed action.
