Even John Denver Understands


I'm packed for Orlando. Can't wait to get out of here.  In one week I am Leaving on a jet plane. If you don't believ me - ask Peter, Paul and Mary. Winter has me wonky and my kids are on school vacation and Holy.Hell. I am ready for them to be back in school and it is only day 2 of vacation...and did I mention I don't have respite for my kids while I am in Orlando fully lined up yet????? Oh, and I am PMSing, too? Fun times!

Spent an overnite this past weekend at a local Hotel with a swimming pool with about 100 other folks through an WINTER ADOPTION event.  There is an agency that provides ongoing support and education for adoptive families in our state (domestic/international/from foster care - whatever...).  It was great to be with Moms who get it and with families that look as different as mine....Of course when you are with a bazillion other families that look different, our uniqueness starts to look the same....???does that make any sense????....At one point I saw a caucasion mom-dad-2kid family sitting peacefully in lounge chairs at the pool and just KNEW they weren't with our group...they were way too homogenous and wayyyyyyy too calm looking. It is the crazed eyes that is a dead giveaway....

I'm hoping I return from Orlando looking a little less crazed myself.......

    I had planned on being packed by now, but what the heck! I am such a procrastinator I stand in my own frieking way.

    Wow, 100 people who get it?! That is awesome! There is something relaxing about that even Crazy eyes and all.

    8 days 20 hours and 30 minutes I will be in Orlando! Woohoo!

    So excited to see y'all soon!!! Do I need to ask my friend P. to come hang out with your kids in your neck of the woods so you make sure you get out of there? ... Can you tell I really want y'all to go to Orlando?

    Good Lord, girl, you'll give me a stroke talking about 100 people. 68. 68 I can handle. 100 would just be crazy, right?
