If it wasn't so funny it would be sad...or is it the other way around? You decide.
I am amazed at the life experiences our foster children have had and their frame of reference for viewing the world.
In case you can't read it clearly:
My Mom will crash into a another car. (My Mom will crash into another car.)
My friend a had flash back. (My friend had a flashback.)
So what sentences did your second grader use this week for their spelling words?

yep, their frames are so different. Hope things are going ok, as ok as I would expect them to be that is.
ReplyDeleteNot every kid that age (assuming the kid's actually 7) thinks that much about the well-being of others. Kind of cool.
ReplyDeleteMy second grader had to ask for help with spelling qassam rockets for his homework.
ReplyDeleteHmm.. interesting observations from a youngster. At least the 3rd sentence is a happy one!
ReplyDeleteGotta love it. We have just finished working on Corazon's scrapbook from 2006 (yes I am a little behind but given that we got 3 new kids in 2007 I have a good excuse.) We found her folder of schoolwork from Kinder and it included one assignment that brought back "fond" memories since it resulted in our first parent-teacher meeting. The teacher showed us Corazon's work where she had written "Mom is mean." then "Mom licks her cat." and finally "Mom and Mama lick each udder." Note her excellent spelling. You know how many times we had her practice writing the words "L-I-K-E" and "O-T-H-E-R"?
ReplyDeletehugs to you both. catching up on my blog reading because I've been a mench for the last few weeks.

"Chameleon" was one of Freckles' spelling words in 2nd grade. I still can't spell it! Thankfully I didn't have any strange sentences associated with it.
ReplyDelete@Dia - Please tell me the teacher was at least understanding!
