Two -Thirds of The New Additon

Yesterday two lovely young brothers joined our home.  For a month or so they are the same age. "Irish Twins" my Irish/English grandmother would say. On Monday their infant brother will also join us (on respite) for a short spell. Hopefully relatives will step up and they can be together.

James and Bobby, our older boys, were thrilled to go to the county fair with the Other Mother and enjoy the rides while I stayed behind and enjoyed the solitude at the lake with the little ones. We were the only ones there!  On a Saturday? Yup. The lake to ourselves.  Solitude. Yes. Peaceful. No. Nonstop squeals, frenetic energy and chatter.  I'm sure it will be irritating at some point - but for the time being I'm enjoying the giggles and silly questions.

I'm also exhausted from chasing them around....early bedtime for this Momma.

  1. Oh sounds like fun and some interesting posts ahead. My Fiona and her sister Krystle are "irish twins" too. Isn't it funny how some people seem to "give up" on summer and the activities we all talk about longing for, at the end of the season? I am just the opposite trying to cram more and more into each fleeting, warm, sunbright day. Like Frederick the mouse, so I can remember the colors and sounds in the bleakness of January.
