So I go to get on the scale this am.
Ya know.
To weigh myself.
Never, ever a good idea first thing in the morning- makes me cranky -but I did it anyhow.
My scale is digitial
You have to tap it with your toe to get the light thingy to start up and reset to 0.0.
Once it resets to 0.0 you can get on it and it shows your weght after 2 or 3 seconds.
Cool.
So this morning I tap and wait and it says lo
I do a double take as I am sure it said lol.
Really.
Which would be a very unkind thing for a scale to say.
Especially to it's overweight, middle aged owner first thing in the morning...
Anyhow, I tried it again: tapped.
Waited for 0.0 and hopped on .
This time the screen went black.
Yeah.
Black.
Apparently lo means low battery.
At least it isn't laughing out loud....

Your scale isn't laughing out loud but I sure did reading this! We have the same type of scale!
ReplyDeletetoo funny, i just bought a similar ( maybe the same) scale last week. the first time it laughs at me it is going out the window.
ReplyDeleteHeidi
*snort* that would happen to me, lol!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it means you are too lo to bother with a weight number. Scales have that kind of discernment power right?
Whew!
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I have heard there are talking scales. Which I am SURE no woman invented. What a terrible idea!
that's funny!
ReplyDeleteI need one that says lo all the time!
ReplyDeleteUh oh, you killed it! Think of the service you could do to womankind by wandering through retail establishments and offing their scales. Imagine the scene: "I don't know--she walked down the aisle and the scales let out a little laugh and, well, went dark. It happened so quickly..."
ReplyDeleteMine would say to me,"Hey! Get your fat a$$ off of me, you're killing me. Just had to have that Snickers Ice Cream bar on the way back from visiting your son, huh? Even I know that's stress eating and I only have a microchip for a brain. Geez...uh wait, whoa! I was just makin' conversation...hey, have you lost weight? No, no, no....not the big garbage can! I'll be good...I prom....."
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! Mine just stops working when the batteries die. I have one similar to yours and I always try to guess what the number will be when it's 'calculating'... Get out and take a walk... it will make you feel better! :)
ReplyDeletejust checking in - haven't seen you on blogspot and was worried about ya'll
