Three In The Morning

At the risk of sounding like a bad Frank Sinatra song. It is almost Three in the morning; there is no one else up except me and the baby snoring. Little Miss Dee, a teeny, tiny baby with a very LOUD wheezy/stridor/snore thing is keeping me company until the Tylenol with Codeine and the Ibuprophen kick in. Sweet Mother of God does my tooth and jaw hurt.

The Good News is, and you know there is ALWAYS Good News in our house, the Dentist will see me at 9:30am on a Saturday morning. Love my Dentist. Just love him.

The Bad News is that is six and a half LOOOONNNGG hours away from now.

The Reality is that my appointment is at the exact same time when The Other Mother is hosting a fundraising event at the agency where she is the Executive Director.

The Reality is I need to bring the baby to the appointment no matter what.

The Reality is that my appointment is at the exact same time when two of our three boys have basketball try outs at the local High School. This is the make-up day.

Yes you heard me right. Two of our THREE boys. Our family grew overnight: AK arrived last night for his third tour of duty as a foster child in our home. See yesterday's post for the specifics why he is back. Sad. Very sad. Anyhow.... The Recreation Dept. Basketball league upper division is for 5th & 6th graders. Perfect for Bobby and Cal. not so good for AK. AK is in 8th grade. So no Basketball. OUCH The Very Competitive Suburban League has REAL tryouts and started last month. AK is the same height as Bobby - but Bobby at 10 outweighs AK who is almost 14. So the Very Competitive League is not an option.....I think I'll call some Karate Dojos and Fencing Studios when I get back from the Dentist....AK so needs an outlet right now.

....Any how..Just another Saturday Morning Logistical Nightmare...At least it takes my mind off the pain.

  1. you should be at the dentist by now, hope there is some relief, that the babe doesn't cry the whole time and that the transistion for AK is not to hard.

  2. I really hope you are feeling better soon. Juggling acts are hard and when you are in pain, even worse. I can't take codeine though gives me mega migraines!
